Summary

  • The existing "agent is responding…" label only lived in the chat-head pill at the top of the panel — easy to miss above a long scrolled transcript, and not where the user's eyes land right after hitting send.
  • Adds a small status line (reusing the existing .chat-spinner) right above the input box in both the management console and per-agent consoles. Hidden except while a turn is in flight (turnActive).
  • Purely additive to the existing panel: ChatPanelElements gains a status element, updateControls() toggles its hidden attribute — no change to existing behavior/state.

Test plan

  • npx tsc --noEmit — clean
  • npx vitest run — 107/107 passing
  • Manual: open a chat, send a message, confirm the line appears above the input while the turn is active and disappears on turn_end
